Singing Lessons And Singing Auditions

When you know that you have some singing auditions coming up, it is really a good idea to arrange some singing lessons in advance. This way you can make sure that you are completely prepared for your audition and you can feel 100% confident when you walk into the audition room.

The amount of singing lessons you should take will depend on the following things:

How many singing lessons can you afford?

What do you need to do in your singing lesson?

How many singing lessons can you afford?

If you know you can afford to take 2 singing lessons per week then that is great. If you can’t then the next best thing is to make sure you record your singing lesson, get all the information you need from your vocal coach about what you need to work on and go home and use this information. Do regular vocal warm-up exercises every day, if possible, and practice as much as you can before the day of your audition.

What do you need to do in your singing lesson?

Do you need to learn a new song? Do you need extra vocal training to learn about how to support your vocal sound? If these are the types of things you need to do, then you really should record your singing lessons. Ask your teacher to make a recording of your new song by playing the tune note for note so that you can follow the tune on your own and learn the melody easily. Then get your teacher to record the whole song so that you can use this as your backing track. This way you will know exactly what your song will sound like when the pianist plays it at your audition.

If you are lucky enough to know about your singing auditions in good time, it is always best to try and book a couple of singing lessons with your vocal coach. Getting feedback on your performance from someone you know will really make a difference and will help you have a successful audition.

Good luck.
